I do a lot of baking and have had a lot of different timers over the years. This one is my favorite because:
-It has all the numbers 0-9 on it. This is so much better than the ones that just have the minute/second buttons...if you need to set it for 45 minutes, you have to push the minute button 45 times! With this one you just plug in 45 and go.
-The buttons don't wear out or lose their "feedback." I have another Taylor brand timer with round buttons and after a while the buttons start to lose their bounce (they get kind of hard to push/click and make it register with the timer).
-Simple design (no unnecessary buttons etc.)
-Small size
So far I've been so happy with this model that I'm buying a few more. (I always seem to misplace them or my husband borrows them or my son plays with them or something!)
[UPDATE of 8/23/10]: These timers eventually DO lose button feedback...it gets very hard or impossible to push in some of the number buttons (or rather, you can still push the buttons but it doesn't register with the timer). This is the case even if I put in a fresh battery. So...perhaps this is par for the course for small, inexpensive electronics...they just have a fairly short lifespan. Or maybe there's another brand out there that would last longer? Don't know. So I changed my rating from 5 to 4 stars.
