I have one of these thermometers in the air conditioning center outlet of each of my cars. Helps me know if there is an air conditioning problem developing. Turns on with a push button. It turns itself off after a period of inactivity so the battery doesn't run down like it would on a thermometer with a slide switch.Customer Review: Very good tool

This works better than I expected. After following the calibration directions it was ready to work for me, and work well it does. I am slightly disappointed that the battery didn't last more than a few months, but that could have been our doing by not turning it off. Beats my analog version by a mile. As others have said it takes a little while to get to temp, but once it does you know exactly what the temp is so you spend less time reading a dial while losing heat or overcooking your food. Easy to calibrate insures no false readings. Waterproof means you can wash with abandon!Customer Review: It works, it's easy, it's not expensive

Pros: Small, easy to read, easy to use, easy to clean, inexpensive
Cons: Takes a few seconds to get a reading, can't leave it in the oven or grill

I got this thermometer last year and it's never done me wrong. It's got a nice side clip so I have it clipped to the utensil holder in my kitchen, it's always available.
We compared its metering to a digital laser thermometer, and it seems to be spot on accurate.
Very good value for the price.
