Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Taylor Analog Instant-Read Dial ThermometerCustomer Review: thermometer Summary: 5 Starsfunctions very well through the range. We use it to check freezer and refrig. settings. Excellent value for what its function is intented
Customer Review: Sturdy and reliable Summary: 4 StarsThis thing lasted through an accidental spin in the food processor. Besides that durable aspect, it's straightforward and uncomplicated so it's a no brainer to use. But the gauge slows down as it gets closer to the actual temperature- so be patient for several seconds as it climbs up towards the final reading. It's not like weighing fruit at the grocery and getting a quick reading off the scale...
Customer Review: Great $5.00 buy Summary: 5 StarsWhat a help this little gem is. I have been making yogurt for years- just winging the temps by touch. This thermometer is very easy and gives an immediate read out. I realized I had not been cooling enough and I guess I must be lucky not having but a few failures. A must have for yogurt makers.
Customer Review: the industry standard - for good reason Summary: 4 StarsI've had this thermometer for a while and I test it every so often for ice water (0 degrees) and boiling water (212) and it never wavers by more than 3 degrees. Its very simple and tough. The only limitation is perhaps that it takes a bit of time to read the temp, maybe 15 seconds. Skip the batteries, the infrared, and fork shaped thermometers. Stick to Taylor or their subsidiary Trutemp.
Customer Review: Slow Taylor Summary: 3 StarsThis thermometer is ok. Not the best. I thought it would be better. Sometimes I wonder if it is actually working and it is pretty slow.
