Let me start with the Minuses: the print on the face is rubbing off and I've only used this thermometer twice to make some fries. I washed it in soap and water with a damp sponge and as I was wiping it the type was rubbing off. Option A, don't wash it. Option B, use a sharpie to write it all back in.
The pluses are that the thermometer is accurate, it clips on to the side of the pot and it sits low enough to allow you to read anything over 1/2 inch.
Is it really worth 10 dollars for 2 uses? You'll have to be the judge of that.

As others have mentioned this thermometer is quite accurate and is easy to read during the cooking process.
The disappointment is that after only 2 uses the numbers were substantially faded/smeared to the point of being unreadable.
As a final note my lovely Bride was making some sort of toffee candy and only took the thermometer up to 305*F (hard crack) and had washed the thermometer as suggested on the packaging.
Oh - and who in the world tagged this item as a DIGITAL thermometer??? Sheeesh.....
