As you might expect, it does in fact tell you the temperature of your milk. The clip clips nicely onto a frothing pitcher (to the person who said the clip broke when you clipped it onto a mug a few times - that's because you clipped it onto a mug a few times... it's for a frothing pitcher.) The yellow shading on the "sweet spot" of the dial is clear and useful. It's adequately responsive for the price (in my experience, lag is 3 seconds, not 7 as previous poster mentioned).
In other words, it does exactly as advertised in exactly the manner the price point indicates it would. Perfectly adequate tool for the recreational latte maker.

It was with some trepidation that I ordered this thermometer; I had read the review(s) stating that the lack of a 100 degree mark was a problem. I ordered anyway.
First of all, the lack of a 100 degree mark isn't a big issue. You can gauge where that is on the circle based on the length of the marks between 120 and 140.
Second of all, this thermometer has revolutionized my milk frothing. I'm actually able to know what I'm doing, and (no small thanks to my Gaggia Evolution) I'm now making beautiful microfoam, with repeatable results. The repeatability is what makes this such a great tool.
Highly recommended.

I'm a beginner in the espresso machines's world and I was just frothing the milk without knowing that it needs to be done in a specific temperature, so, basically, my cappuccino was COLD and tasted very bad, so, from the time that it had been received to me, I never stopped making great cappuccino and latte as well, even when I got a new espresso machine (DeLonghi ESAM 4400 (Perfect 5 stars machine)), I continue to use it daily.
Buy it, you won't regret it.

Excellent product! I am happy that I purchased this along with the stainless frothing pitcher and double insulated shot glasses to make my expresso maker complete. The thermometer helps greatly to achieve the desired frothing temperature. Prior to this arriving it was guess work and I had to nuke the latte to achieve the desired temperature. Spend the extra couple of cents for this and you will appreciate it.Customer Review: Perfect for froth making

This is an excellent constructed thermometer for making perfect froth. Indicator is tightly sealed and no fogging. And solid stainless-steel construction. I bought it a month ago and have no complain. Make sure you only need it for making froth and not other usages. If you look at the picture, you'll see the it only works at temperature from 120-180F. Good quality and nice price.
