Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Taylor Classic Cappuccino Frothing Dial ThermometerCustomer Review: Works Finw Summary: 4 StarsThis thermometer works for the use that it was intended. A little overpriced but hard to find so I'm just glad I was able to find it any price.
Customer Review: Thermometer Summary: 5 StarsGreatest thing ever for making a latte at home. Never liked what we got from our machine, but it's amazing what getting the right temperature for the milk can do - we used to try to gauge the heat of the milk by touch, but using this made it clear that we were way off. It really helps.
Customer Review: cappuccino thermometer Summary: 4 Starswonderful little thermometer. Allows you to make cappucino froth just like the big guys. Only consideration is that it is only 5 inches long. Not meant for tall container. Get a frothing cup to fit.
Customer Review: Economical Summary: 4 StarsPlus - Easy to read, non-adjustable, very responsive
Minus - Clip does not fit the Krups XS5020 Frothing Pitcher tightly. If it did it would be 5 stars
Customer Review: Avoid this model! Summary: 1 StarsFirst, I feel foolish for having bought this thermometer in the first place, seeing as the range on the display is 120-180. This essentially eliminates being able to ensure that milk to be frothed is cold enough. Plus, milk for lattes should never be stretched beyond 100 (even lower if you have a more powerful frother), which, obviously, is below the range of this thermometer. Then there's the responsiveness problem. By the time this thermometer registers 140, the milk is already screeching violently.
I bought this thermometer to replace a digital instant-read thermometer that I had ruined by keeping it too close to a hot grill. But I'll definitely be buying a better thermometer.
