This is the best digital thermometer I've ever used. First, it comes with its own case to prevent damage. Second, its stainless steel and seems to be fine after a time in the dishwasher. The LED screen is easy to read and has an on/off button to conserve battery use. Also, it quickly climes/drops to the temperature. This is my second Taylor digital instant read thermometer (lost the first one). I bought one just like the first one because I liked it so much. I can't comment on other brands because I don't own another one that is a digital instant read. But if I also happened to lose this one, I would buy another one just like it.Customer Review: AWESOME!

Fast, accurate and cheap, cheap! What's not to like? Be careful opening the head to replace the battery, the thermistor leads could be a longer and could REALLY be attached better than with the RTV they used.
Performance is perfect, and only an electroniker would complain about the assembly techniques.

a brilliantly designed tool. easy to use and readout is very easy -- flat head design allows you to see temp and on/off switch saves battery life, love that they include spare battery and option for Celsius. I use to measure water temp for my Japanese teas. very sensitive instrument - and yes, it is instant.Customer Review: Excellent all around!

Great product! Don't know how I ever cooked and lived without this. Temps display pretty fast and accurate to 1/10th of a degree. Nice easy display to read. When not in use the probe slides back into it's holster so it doesn't scratch or get damaged. It's the right price and highly recommended!
